Hi there!  I’m Benita, Owner and Founder of Balloon Spectacular and I am so glad you’re here.  I am excited to share with you more about us.  Balloon Spectacular first came to life back in 1997, born from my love of creating joy through the art of balloons. With almost 3 decades of experience (yes, it’s been that long!), I’ve had the absolute pleasure of helping people celebrate life’s special moments in big, colorful ways. Not long after launching the business, I earned my Certified Balloon Artist (CBA) designation in 1997 through Pioneer Company Qualatex Balloon Network (QBN)—an exciting milestone that gave me even more tools to bring unique balloon designs to life.

Over the years, I’ve had the honor of working with wonderful clients all across the Kansas City area—from big corporate names like Sprint, Citibank, the U.S. Postal Service, Marriott, Harrah’s Casino, Rockhurst University, Farmers Insurance, State Farm Insurance, Pfizer and many others to beautiful wedding receptions, bridal showers, and a wide array of special occasions that I still smile about today.

In those early days, I was also part of the KC Midwest Balloon Professionals Association, business owners. Together as a business community we all shared a vision of promoting balloon décor as a true art form. It was such a special time, filled with creativity and professional collaboration.

Like many small businesses, Balloon Spectacular took a pause during tough economic times, and I stepped into a new chapter working in public service. That journey sharpened my skills in management, mentoring and training, communication, organization,  and client care—skills that have become such a natural part of how I manage business, mentor others in business and serve my customers today.  And even while I was away from the balloon world full time, I continued to sharpen my craft  and invest in continued education. I stayed in the loop with industry trends and continued creating balloon decor for private events and special balloon arrangements for friends.

In 2024, with a heart full of inspiration (and lots of encouragement from past clients!), I relaunched Balloon Spectacular—this time with a fresh focus on amazing and unique balloon gift deliveries. My goal? To bring thoughtful, beautifully designed balloon arrangements to your doorstep—each one made with care and creativity, drizzled with a touch of flair and topped with a lot of “WOW!”

These days, I’m proud to serve the communities of Blue Springs, Mo, Independence, Mo and select areas in Lee’s Summit, Mo with unique balloon gifts, and I still offer full-service event decorating for select occasions.

When people ask me why I do what I do, I always say: there’s always something to celebrate. And few things light up a room—or a heart—like a truly spectacular balloon arrangement.
